TGiving Annual Trans Thanksgiving Celebration – 106/107/111/114
November 26 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
The annual Transgender Thanksgiving party is a cherished tradition started in the mid-90s by Brenda Thomas, a fierce activist in Houston’s transgender community. Though Brenda passed away in 2006, her legacy lives on. For the past five years, the Montrose Center has proudly continued this tradition, held every year on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, kicking off our holiday food programs.
Join us for our annual TGiving: Trans Thanksgiving Celebration! This free event is open to all transgender and nonbinary individuals and their guests. We’ll provide a catered Thanksgiving dinner with a variety of sides, and you’re welcome to bring your favorite dish to share—but no pressure! There will be plenty of food for registered guests, including vegan options.
This year’s celebration includes an interactive gaming room, a photo booth, and a quiet crafting space for those who need a break from the excitement. We’ll also have door prizes, swag bags, and several Trans Community Partners on hand to share information about their organizations.
Come join us for a wonderful evening of community, connection, and celebration. We understand the importance of “family” and support, especially during the holidays. For those whose families may not be as supportive, we want to share a little extra holiday love.
