Honoring Arden Eversmeyer

Thursday, August 11

Arden Eversmeyer is a leader, perhaps most well-known for her recording and preservation of lesbian autobiographies through the Old Lesbians Organizing for Change Herstory Project. An advocate for senior lesbians, and especially MCC’s SPRY programs, we are honored to include Arden as one of MCC’s most loyal supporters. Her accomplishments include founding Lesbians Over Age Fifty (LOAF), now celebrating over 23 years of activity, and serving as a Mayoral Appointee to the City’s Agency on Aging.

YOU’RE INVITED! Join us on Thursday, August 11, at 6 p.m. in Room 101 of Montrose Counseling Center, 401 Branard, as we celebrate Arden’s accomplishments by naming a room in her honor. To Rsvp, please contact Community Projects Specialist Meleah Jones at 713.800.0872 or by email.

In 2009, a group of Arden’s friends and peers came together to honor Arden with a room in order that she forever be an integral part of MCC. To date, they have donated 30% of the $5,000 pledge made in Arden’s honor. To assist in this endeavor, please send your donation to 401 Branard, 2nd Floor, Houston, Texas, 77006, c/o Arden’s Room, or click here to make a safe, secure online donation. Simply write “Arden’s Room” as the designation.

Just as Arden travels the country collecting our communities’ history one herstory at a time, so too can we honor her for her accomplishments, one donation at a time. No contribution is too small.

For more information, to make a donation, or to Rsvp for the Celebration of Arden on August 11, please contact Community Projects Specialist Meleah Jones by email or at 713.800.0872.
