Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) Center of Houston

This is not your average LGBT center!

the Montrose Center: Houston's LGBT center

The Montrose Center empowers our community, primarily lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) individuals and their families, to live healthier, more fulfilling lives.

An LGBT center that serves those most in need.

We are one of the few LGBT centers to offer professional and group counseling and outpatient addiction treatment. The Center offers free wellness programs for everyone to enjoy. Youth and senior programs assist our most vulnerable. Additionally, we are the sole provider of dedicated support services for LGBT survivors of domestic abuse/violence, sexual assault, and trafficking; as well individuals targeted for hate crimes regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

An LGBT center that looks outside our own community.

In addition to the above, services for persons living with HIV/AIDS include individual and group therapy, medical/clinical case management, and housing (HOPWA) assistance.  The Montrose Center is also committed to preventing new HIV and other sexually-transmitted infections through a variety of community education and street outreach programs. HIV testing is offered free-of-charge for those who are at risk.
The LGBT Switchboard 24-hour helpline, 713-529-3211, is open day and night to provide crisis intervention, information and support.

An LGBT center that offers a safe space to grow and connect with others.

The Center also offers free weekly wellness programs (such as yoga, meditation, walking, running and more), and a free Cyber Center for personal computing and Internet access.  The Montrose Center is where the community meets!  Affordable rental space for meetings and events is available 7 days a week starting at $10 per hour.  See our online calendar for a complete list of programs and events.
The Montrose Center is an active member of CenterLink: The Community of LGBT Centers, and a United Way of Greater Houston affiliated agency.
