World AIDS Day – Walk & Watch
This year we’re taking World AIDS Day to the street. Westheimer, to be exact
We’ll start at Legacy Community Health Services where the names of those we’ve lost will be read*, and then we’ll walk around the block with our candles. Picture a crowd filing along the sidewalk right here in our neighborhood with the red ribbons on the Legacy Montrose Clinic building. Starbucks will be serving coffee in case it’s a chilly evening.
Then we’d love you to join us at the Montrose Center where we’ll be screening HBO’s “The Normal Heart.” Not everyone who wanted to see the film was able to watch it on a premium channel. We’ll have food there, underwritten by White Rhino Financial. The doors will open at 7 p.m. with the movie starting at 7:30 p.m.
Attend both or either one of these World AIDS Day events to remember those we’ve lost and to share our strength for those who are living with HIV/AIDS.
*If you would like to have the name of someone read, please email Januari Leo at jleo@legacycommunityhealth.org.
