Open House Event Welcomes More Than 150 LGBTQ+ Community Members

On Wednesday, June 5, the Montrose Center welcomed more than 150 guests for our 2024 Open House. Attendees had the opportunity to learn more about the Center and our services, meet members of our team, and hear from our CEO, Avery Belyeu.

Representatives from every Center program were available for guests to learn more about our work and share how they could access our services. Many of our partner organizations were there as well including Parents of Trans Youth, Trans Masculine Alliance of Houston, Houston Public Library, Lambda Legal, Legacy Community Health and more. As a special treat to guests, pastries and coffee were generously donated by Starbucks.

At the heart of our event, we had an engaging and lively fireside chat with CEO Avery Belyeu. With the support of moderator Stephen Miranda of the Greater Houston LGBT Chamber of Commerce, Avery answered a series of questions ranging from her vision for the future of the Center to her favorite LGBTQ+ Pride moment. Afterwards, Stephen opened the floor for a Q+A session, where guests could ask Avery questions directly. We appreciate the thoughtful conversations prompted by the community.

Notable attendees included Council Member for Houston City Council, District H Mario Castillo.

Thank you again to the Community Organizations who joined us, as well as those who volunteered their time to help ensure our Open House was a success!
