For queer folks, the dance floor has never been just a dance floor. It’s where we found each other when the rest of the world wouldn’t have us, where we became chosen family and learned we could be fully ourselves. Ten years ago, on Latin Night at Pulse, forty-nine of our folks were doing exactly that, dancing, laughing, loving out loud, and they are held in our hearts tonight and always. We remember them the way this community has always remembered its own: together, holding one another close, saying their names with love. This night will carry joy and grief in the same breath, and that’s alright. Come as you are, and know you are never carrying any of it alone.
