February 7: National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day
The Montrose Center conducts street and community-level outreach targeting persons who are identified as being at risk for HIV infection and are uncertain of their HIV status with rapid HIV, Hep C, and Syphilis testing, and TB screening. Participants are assessed for risk behaviors, provided with culturally relevant information about reducing risk. Referrals to case management, health services, alcohol and drug treatment and education about the link between substance use and HIV/STI risk are also provided.
