MCC Holiday Baskets Feed Families. Will You Sponsor a Basket at $25?

groceriesFood/Hygiene Supply Drive & Holiday Baskets

Holiday gatherings centered around a turkey with all the trimmings is something many of us look forward to, and have the luxury of taking for granted! Each year, MCC’s case managers team up to ensure that none of our clients miss out on this tradition by assembling and distributing holiday food baskets.

For just $25, you can sponsor a basket that will provide a family of five with a turkey, sauce, potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn, stuffing, rolls and other goodies.  To make a safe, secure online donation, click here and enter “Holiday Baskets” as the designation.  Or, if you prefer, you may bring a gift card to 401 Branard, 2nd floor (77006) anytime Monday through Friday from 7am to 8am.

Please help us reach our goal of 25 baskets!

Throughout the year, MCC provides clients in crisis with ready-to-eat food items and hygiene supplies as necessary.  This fills a crucial gap for clients who are waiting to access to a food bank, shelter or receive more stable  assistance.  Our grants and funding sources do not cover this need, so we continually rely on the generosity of the community and individual donors to keep our shelves stocked.  You may deliver donations to us at 401 Branard, 2nd floor (77006) anytime Monday through Friday from 7am to 8am.

Nov. 11 – Theatre Suburbia Free Performance Benefits MCC’s Food Drive

As a supporter of MCC, you’re invited! We hope you can join us for a benefit performance of “A Good Old Fashioned Redneck Country Christmas” at 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 11. In addition to being a fun evening of fellowship with MCC supporters and volunteers, the performance will kick off MCC’s Holiday Food/Hygiene Drive. In lieu of purchasing a ticket, attendees are asked to bring food/hygiene items from this list for HATCH youth and MCC’s case management clients in need.

Written by Kristine Bauske and directed by founding GCAM member Judy Reeves, “A Good Old Fashioned Redneck Country Christmas” is a light-hearted comedy, whose setting is Lou’s Diner, the friendliest place in the South. Lou’s husband, Bill, and his pals Dave and Jimmy have taken off for a day of hunting in the mountains in order to avoid family issues. With the warm-hearted women hard at work in the diner on Christmas Eve and the men staunchly avoiding the traditional holiday setting back home, we get to witness each group’s perspective of the other. The first miracle of Christmas blesses everyone in this tender comedy, with simplicity and grace, gently reminding the audience of the real reason for the season!

The benefit performance will take place at 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, at Theatre Suburbia, 4106 Way Out West Drive. Rsvp is requested,communitydev@montrosecounselingcenter.org, 713.800.0872.
