Led by a collaboration of nearly two dozen organizations, this Summit serves as a catalyst for collective action and shared vision—continuing Houston’s proud tradition of community-driven change that dates back to the historic 1978 Town Meeting I, which brought together 3,500 community members and established foundational LGBTQ+ services that still serve Greater Houston today.
Through community-driven programming spanning health, wellness, arts, culture, and history, Summit participants will:
- Unite diverse voices from across the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ community
- Listen to community needs and aspirations through comprehensive dialogue
- Develop actionable strategies that address key social determinants of health, including access to care, economic security, and community safety
- Present a unified queer agenda and shared roadmap for advancing LGBTQ+ life in Houston
Over two days, participants will engage in community visioning sessions, action planning workshops, cultural programming, wellness initiatives, and a democratic process culminating in community-voted calls to action. Sessions and support in Spanish and ASL interpretation will be available.
