Domestic Violence Assistance Fund
If you are experiencing or have experienced domestic or family violence and need financial support, assistance may be available through The Montrose Center’s Anti-Violence Program (AVP).
We understand that financial barriers can impact safety, stability, and access to resources. The Domestic Violence Assistance Fund was created to help survivors address urgent needs and support their path toward safety and healing.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for assistance, applicants must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Self-report a history of domestic or family violence
- Currently reside in Harris County
What Types of Assistance Are Available?
Funding is flexible and based on individual circumstances and available resources. Examples of assistance may include:
- Emergency housing or hotel stays
- Utility assistance
- Transportation-related expenses
- Safety-related needs
- Other urgent expenses connected to a survivor’s well-being, stability, or safety
The type and amount of assistance available will vary based on funding availability and individual circumstances.
How to Apply
Applications are available online and can be completed from a phone, tablet, or computer. No sign-in is required.

What Happens After I Apply?
After your application is submitted:
- Your request will be reviewed by members of the Anti-Violence Program team.
- A staff member may contact you by phone or email to learn more about your situation and discuss next steps.
- You may be asked to provide supporting documentation during the review process.
Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee funding. Assistance is limited and requests are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis while funding remains available. By submitting an application, you consent to being contacted by a member of our team regarding your request.
