Author Kim Hoover will be visiting the Montrose Center on September 28 from 6-8pm to read from, answer questions about, and sign copies of her young adult novel GIRL SQUAD. GIRL SQUAD follows Cal, a girl in small-town Texas whose mother goes missing one summer. Cal resolves to find her, and along the way finds herself in the middle of something bigger than she could have ever imagined – and more dangerous – while also having confusing new feelings for her friend, Jane. GIRL SQUAD was inspired by the author’s own experiences growing up confused about her emerging sexuality in a small religious town in 1970s Texas.
