Thanks a Million!

ERSICSS has done it again! We are blown away by the generosity of the Empire of the Royal Sovereign and Imperial Court of the Single Star, Inc. At their Investitures ceremony on February 19, they presented MCC with a donation of more than $17,000 as one of Reign XXVI’s beneficiaries under the leadership of Emperor and Empress Falcon and Sheri Anne Bouton! In addition, the Kimberly Anne O-Neil Believe in a Dream Scholarship Fund presented HATCH with ukelele starter kits for a HATCH Ukele Band.

In appreciation of ERSICSS’s ongoing efforts on our behalf, Executive Director Ann J. Robison and Board Member and HATCH volunteer Brendan Mikeska presented the members of ERSICSS with MCC’s Stella Scott Award. Each year, the award is given to someone who has provided outstanding support and generosity to enhance MCC’s continued service to Houston’s GLBT communities. Who better to receive the award than the members of ERSICSS, who work tirelessly on our behalf with multiple weekly fundraising shows? Congratulations, ERSICSS, and thank you again!

As we look forward to the coming year, we are humbled and honored to be selected as a beneficiary of Reign XXVII. Thank you, Emperor and Empress Scott Kenyon and Lillian Devereaux, for choosing to invest in MCC’s programs throughout your reign. We look forward to more fun, more unbelievable talent, and more gorgeous costumes, as we look forward to strengthening our relationship with ERSICSS throughout the coming year.

We just can’t say it enough; thank you again, ERSICSS!

We sincerely thank the Misfits for choosing our seniors program SPRY as one of this year’s annual beneficiaries. We look forward to this fall’s annual Misfits Ball and growing our relationship with this fantastic group! Misfits Ball 13, Cirque de Sade, will be held on Sunday, September 11.

Until then, you may find members of the Misfits bartending on the patio at the Ripcord on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m. The Misfits is a social levi/leather club established in 1992 as a nonprofit organization that raises funds for other charitable organizations in the community while having fun.

Thank you, Unhinged Productions, for making HATCH the beneficiary of A Queer Carol. The event raised $2,000 for our youth program.

We’d like to extend our appreciation to Talor Brooks, Candidate for Miss BRB 2011 for making MCC the beneficiary of her February 18th show, which raised $270 for our programs.

Thank you to Texas A & M, Galveston’s Gay Straight Alliance for visiting us on March 4 to learn more about us and to spend the afternoon doing volunteer work for us, as well as for the generous donations of food items and hygiene supplies for our case management clients and HATCH youth in need.
