TGiving Annual Trans Thanksgiving Celebration – 106/107
November 21, 2023 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
The annual Transgender Thanksgiving party is a tradition started in the mid-90s by Brenda Thomas, a fierce activist in Houston’s transgender community. Brenda passed away in 2006, but her legacy remains strong. For the past five years, the Montrose Center has continued this tradition every year on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, and this year we will continue that tradition which kicks off our holiday food programs. On November 21, we will continue with our in-person event here at the Center, with enhanced support offered to participants in need through takeaway shelf stable food boxes. Indulge in a catered Thanksgiving feast featuring delectable turkey, a variety of sides, and sumptuous vegan options. Save room for an array of desserts! Plus, shelf-stable food boxes and gift bags .We understand the value of “family” and support during holidays. During the event, join us for an inspiring evening with local trans icons, including the legendary Roxanne Collins, reigning Miss Gay US of A Porsche Paris, and the formidable Ian Syder Blake. They’ll share personal stories of triumph, spreading hope for a brighter future. All those under the trans umbrella are invited to celebrate this season of giving with us! Plus, shelf-stable food boxes and gift bags. We understand the value of community and support during holidays. Even more so times like this when we all could use a little extra holiday love, especially for those whose given families may not be as supportive as desired. |
